Doom and Gloom!! ;o)

Hi,

Lately, as any of you following this blog will have noticed, there has been an absolute lack of posts. apologies for that but I have been ill and for a time it looked quite serious and this obviously detracted from my painting. The good news is that I have been given a clean bill of health and that I’m back on track although quite a way behind with my painting.

So,  what can you expect over the next few weeks? Well plans are afoot for a demo game at Claymore this year which will be The Battle of Arsuf in 28mm, Couer d’Lions stand against Salah al din which we are putting on for The Lance and Longbow Society. Should be a very nice game as there are three of us working on the project; Moi, I’m standing in for the Franks. Then there’s Jim, who’s feet lie firmly in the realm of civilisation and will be painting and controlling Salah al din’s army. Lastly there’s Kevan, recruited of late to put all the scenery together. He’s good at that sort of thing and as it’s actually the first demo game that I’ve organised (together with Jim) we kind of needed him as he’s done this sort of thing before. Also I should mention that Dave Imrie has offered to chip in a little too which is very good of him as we’re probably going to need him! Cheers Dave.

OK, so watch out over the next five weeks as I work my way through a lot of cavalry and infantry. Incidentally, one problem we have had is getting hold of shileds that are suitable for the 1190’s. If anyone out there can help us out it would be greatly appreciated.

Darrell.
