A few years ago Mike Owen from Artizan sent me an e-mail saying that he was maybe going to do a Great Italian Wars range. After a year or two I pretty much gave up on the idea ……
A few weeks back I heard on the ‘painters grapevine’ (whatever that is) that these were going to be released soon and typically got very excited. I’ve got a unit deal on order so in a day or so I’ll be able to play around with the poses, you know, what figure will go where in the pike block, that kind of stuff and will have a better impression of what they are like. I hear that there are definate plans afoot to extend the range. Personally, to start off, I’m hoping for pike at 30 and 60 degrees so that my blocks look like they mean business!! I’m sure time will tell…..
In the meantime, here are a few snaps that Nick from Northstar kindly sent me:
The following pics were kindly sent to me by Darren of Gripping Beast of the demo game they did with Alex Buchel of Comitatus Miniatures at Crisis, featuring many of Alex’s own mini’s and many of the Gripping Beast collection from their Teutonic and Medieval Russian ranges. Darren also gave me permission to post up the pics on my blog so here you go, a rather fine spectacle indeed:
Very happy……… here’s why………
Having managed to lose the pics that I took for our Gate Fulford demo game at Claymore this year I’m pleased to announce that I’ve managed to procure some pics through a friend. They were taken by Dave Paterson and they will soon be a very welcome addition to my website.
Many thanks go to Gripping Beast for supplying us with their huge collection of Norse and Saxons and also to Kev, terrian maker extroardinaire.
Here’s a sampler:
